Collection: Eva Wirén

Eva Wirén, born in 1963 in Örebro, is a visual artist who mainly works with acrylic, oil and enamel. With a lifelong passion for painting, she moved to Gothenburg in the 80s to study at KV's art school. Currently, she works from her studio on Postgatan in Kronhuskvarteret in Gothenburg, and also spends time at the Artists' Collective Workshop in Sockerbruket where she works with enamel and screen printing.

Eva describes her creation as a process where inspiration is drawn from an empty place deep within her, the subconscious and almost unnoticed. This source can be forgotten dreams, memories from nature or encounters with other people. By painting layer upon layer, scraping away and filling in, stories and sometimes insights emerge during the work process.

Eva's pictures are often characterized by the colors and the mixture between restless and meditative movements that arise during the work. Her artistry is a journey through the inner landscape, where every brush stroke and shade reflects a unique exploration of the emotional and sublime.
