Collection: Nino Ramsby

Since the early 90s, Nino has worked as a photographer. He started as a photography assistant at the Moderna Museet in 1993. Since then, he has worked with images, image processing, graphic design and illustration. Nino has been with Bildbyrån Folio since 2003.

There is something about the attitude to life and the own creation that makes Nino's visual art so wayward and special.

It's about choosing to be available to the details that are around. This runs like a red thread through everything he does and expresses himself in different ways. Where some poets look for special words and word sequences, Nino looks for the poetry in the ordinary words. Where singers search for vocal qualities by practicing different techniques, Nino searches in his own voice and refines it. And where other photographers base their work on finding environments and situations that are experienced as art, Nino makes art from what he sees in his life.

Namely, Nino has chosen to be in the present and open himself up to the art you can see if you only give yourself the time to see it. It is a very brave approach and demanding as one has to be at hand all the time, but it also gives a lot back – to Nino himself and to us who get to see.
