Collection: Christer Lönngren
Christer Lönngren lives and works in Uttersberg, Västmanland.
His sculptural art is characterized by a unique ability to let the material itself speak and create magic. Maple branches create contrasts by combining raw and polished surfaces in the same stone, resulting in not just one, but actually two interacting forms. It is not unusual for him to let feldspars in a rock form a swinging upward movement, or to find a regular eternity symbol (the recumbent eight) in a lump of diabase. In almost every work, Lönngren's art speaks to the viewer as if it were a form of magic.
