Collection: Helena Piippo Larsson

Helena Piippo Larsson was born and raised in Västerås. She collects materials, experiences and sensory impressions in her surroundings. She takes these into the studio. Natural materials (stones, branches, grass and plants) can then be stored there, waiting to be included in an artistic context. In sculpture and painting, she sees the complexity of the organic. In the works, sticks, grass and plants are seen to form patterns, shapes and veins. She looks for meaning and content in the small details, a kind of poetry or her own formulated logic. Her materials are usually gouache painting, sculpture in wood, bronze, stone.
