Collection: Lloyd Tabing

Loyd's paintings are inspired by the feeling of space, both from nature and from the built environment. His process is purely reactionary and intuitive. He loves to paint because it allows him a way to freely express himself in a way that he often can't do with words.

Over the years, painting has developed into a personal creative process. In today's sometimes overwhelmingly busy world, he looks for simplicity. He does this by reducing his environment to its simplest forms. It is this simplified view of line and color that gives him direction when he paints without dictating. When he approaches an empty canvas, he has no preconceived notions, instead he gives in to his emotions and responds to what is happening on the canvas. His paintings are about freedom and expression. Lloyd cherishes the times when he is completely lost for hours in what he is doing and then steps back from canvas and thinks 'wow' that is so powerful. The best feeling he gets from talking to people about his art is hearing them express what the painting does for them. Not so much as what they can see in a piece but more of what they feel.
