Karolina Nolin: Urban Dreams and Playful Perspectives
Born in 1973 in Karlstad, Karolina Nolin finds her inspiration in the pulsating atmosphere of the big city. It is in these urban landscapes that she creates her works of art. Karolina's pictures usually capture townhouses and high-rises, set up on checkerboard floors, surrounded by trees and lampposts. Her art balances between reality and fantasy, where buildings taken from reality coexist with imaginative creations.
Although almost every line seems to be on a playfully crooked journey, Karolina's images manage to maintain a kind of underlying perspective. Reviewers have described her visual world as "children's book illustrations for adults," capturing the playful and imaginative tone of her artistry. Karolina's work invites the viewer to a world where the real and the invented merge in a colorful and playful symphony.
